  1. Having experienced the after sale service of GN Resound in India during last 2 years ( within warranty period ) , I strongly recommend that in India atleast , users should prefer other brands like Phonak and never go for GN Resound.

This regarding usage of Resound – Quattro 7 RIC which had been sent for repairs to their Mumbai office 5 times in last 6 months but issues falling on deaf ears.

  2. Seriously though these sound perfect for long hiking trips. A couple of years ago I did a 10 day hike in the mountains and I really would like to do that again. Thing is I have gotten hearing aids since then and I was worried about whether or not it would be safe for them to be in such conditions as the Norwegian montains can have. Mostly the heavy rain we can get, or the heavy snow if in winter. These sound like a pair I could bring with me with some confidence.

  4. I am on my second set of Phonak aids, through the Veterans Administration The VA uses a 5 year replacement cycle The VA does not have a loaner or rental program, and most repairs are done in Denver.
At 4 years, my original Phonaks had problems. The third repair was done in Denver, and they were returned to me unprogrammed. The VA audiology clinics have been donwsized. There is no more walk in service, and an appointment can take months.
I pointed ot the lack of service and got an appointment 6 weeks out "because someone had canceled" Sure. At that appointment my hearing was tested, my new Phonak Paradise P90's were ordered and my original Phonaks were reprogrammed.
I don't feel the need for water proof hearing aids as I would not wear them in my pool. I don't feel like fishing them out of the deep end.
My Paradise aids are better than the prevous aids, and I do use the app. However, the wax guard replacement system is poor. Previously, each new wax guard was on a plastic stick. Insert the empty end to remove the old wax guard, and insert new. Noew we get disks which hold only 8 wax guards. you insert the receiver into the disk to remove the wax guard. Sometimes that works.
A cheap, simple, and foolproof system has been replaced with a much more expensive and complcated one.

  5. Cliff- I love the channel. I have Oticon open S with micro shells. My audiologist sent them to Oticon for some service. During the service she loaned me some Audeo’s. I found them to be too busy switching between settings and absolutely despised the Bluetooth behavior. Dropped many calls. Some very important. OTOH, the Oticon’s get water damage if someone sneezes within 20 feet. I only had domes with the Phonak hearing aids and have moderate hearing loss so, I don’t think my assessment of the devices is anywhere near objective and thorough. The other comment I had is that the compression made everyone sound like Sean Connery. While amusing, it actually did help me distinguish some words that have given me trouble with the Oticon devices. Overall a mixed bag for me but solid devices with the only big negative being the unacceptable Bluetooth phone call drops. Bluetooth streaming was actually a bit better with the Phonak’s

  6. Great video. Been trying to find my dad new hearing aids for 2 years. He’s been wearing Beltone hearing aids and it’s been a long nightmare. His doc suggested the audeo life. A recent audiologist also suggested Oticon more. So glad you did a video comparing both of these. Thanks for all this info!

  7. Lots of new technologies and capabilities are emerging in new hearing aids from different manufacturers. Many premium and advanced hearing aids can perform in a way to satisfy patients in most cases. But I'd like to know you opinion on WRS/SDS scores. We all talk about good sound quality of hearing aids and their new extraordinary features. But we never talk about the expectations a patient with WRS of 60% or SNR loss of 12 dB or more can have from these kinds of hearing aids. I'd be happy to know your opinion on that Dear Dr.Cliff. Also I do appreciate your great channel.

  9. These look like a great hearing aids to have. Unfortunately, Phonak’s UP receivers which I need for compensating my loss have a frequency range only up to 6100 and that is something I cannot accept. I would miss those higher pitched sounds I can hear now with my current aids.

  10. I have a few questions: how much do they cost, how long do the batteries last on a single charge during normal use and streaming, how long is the warranty, & how long does the battery last in the long run before I need to replace the battery or hearing aids?

  11. I am trying to decide between the Audeo P-R P90 or the Audeo Life. I think the question comes down to… what is more important, the motion sensor or the waterproof. These will be my first hearing aids and I honestly don’t have a clue.

  12. I have had the Audeo Life’s since they first came out. I have loved not having to worry about them when I’m running or in the rain. I have loved them. They come out of the charging case easily because of the inductive charging.

I have been happy with the length of battery life. I have only had them go fully dead when I had a 20 hour day and used them to listen to video/audio via bluetooth.

I have the charging issue and have an appointment next week to get the firmware updated. Hopefully it fixes it! The aid charges at night but when they hit 100% (less than 3 hours) they turn on and begin losing charge. So, when I wake up, they are already drained. Sometimes down to 80% charge. I have to pull out my aids and drop them back in for 20 minutes while I’m getting ready for them to be at 100%.

    I would definitely recommend these!

  13. I've had phonak audeo marvels for 2 years. App is horrible. No clarity. If area is noisy forget having a conversation. I believed your hype on those. Did everything, REM, rechargeable. titanium earpieces. Brutal. My insurance won't cover another pair for another year.

  14. The Audeo Life hearing aids are waterproof but what about the receivers? Also, the Life model doesn't have a Telecoil option, which is disappointing.

I recently got the Audeo Paradise P90-RT HAs and love them. I mostly leave them on the automatic program. Sometimes in noisy restaurants I may choose the Restaurant program and tweak it a bit.

Does the audiologist have to set up the automatic programs or are they there to start with? Can my audiologist adjust any of the auto settings? I would like to increase noise reduction overall but especially on the Bluetooth 1 Streaming setting. Is either of these options possible?

Is there a way to set them up so that I can mute the mics for phone/online meetings when needed? I don't always want to be heard in all circumstances.

  15. What I need in a hearing aid – affordability and clarity. After nearly five years, I still hate my hearing aids. Everything is loud enough but I need clarity. I thought I wouldn’t need closed caption when I got my hearing aids but I do. Audiologist said more expensive might give me slightly better clarity. Can’t enjoy music much any more either. Doesn’t sound the same

  16. Do you use a Cros aid? I only have 20% hearing in my left ear and 75% in my right. Been wondering if I would be better with a Cros aid in the left ear. Right now got OpNS2 aids in both.

  17. I have an iPhone XR and Resound Link Quattro hearing aids. My Bluetooth is fairly good but fails frequently in one ear or both. Is this an iPhone issue? If so, which iPhone models are good for this?
