I am 77 and have had total nerve deafness in my left ear all my life. In the last few years the hearing in my right ear has been slowly going bad. I speak too loudly, have trouble understanding soft spoken people or tv which I need to play too loudly. I have no trouble with telephones or understanding loud tv. Can I use just one aid in my right ear?

I am looking for some guidance on improving my current situation. A couple years ago I came down with a sinus infection. At the same time my hearing decreased a lot. I went to a local ear specialist and took all the hearing tests. The result is near deaf in both ears, usable with louder sounds. I also came down with an ear infection that; the specialist sent me to another doctor for sucking the material from both ears. They did do that. Neither doctor said anything about getting rid of the infection.
In the covid age medical visits are more roulette than accomplishment. I have never been able to get rid of the infection. It has become a dreary exercise every day, as well as some vertigo that I think is related to it. Is there anything I can do DIY to get rid of the infection?

I have a question. I have a over the ear hearing aid that’s is going out do to the cord. It sometimes stop working and easy fix is to bring it in and replace it.
My question is just how good are the cords that connect to the ear mode? Are they relabel? Or am I going to be changing them constantly when they keep going out. I had to change mine out every year.
The funny thing I’m using my Apple iPod as a listening device. Only problem I have to use my iPhone. Cause it act as microphone. Anyway, any help about the cord would be much appreciated.

My hearing aid specialist just ordered me Bernafon Alpha Mini Rite rechargeable hearing aids I was offered Phonak if i wanted but i guess it is not their house brand.Have you had any experience with Bernafon since they did not make your list of 6
Is Signia Pure 312 AX which uses disposable batteries smaller by size than rechargable version?
Mine are hidden in my ear,they are red and blue. The right one is red and the blue is for the left. I have a 90 day trial on them.
So far I don't care for them. Back ground noise is a big problem, and the blue on squeeks and squils and then when it's working it starts beeping. I have small ear canales and these keep slipping out. I do grab my ear to open it by pulling it up and back.
I lost my hearing over night in my left ear, All of it. My right is no help that one is half gone,has been since I was 5 years old, which ones would be best for me? Oh I have multiple sclerosis and seizures.
