How To Stop Whooshing Sound in Ear
Tinnitus is a medical condition characterized by hearing sounds that do not come from an external source. In this article, we will explore some effective ways on how to stop whooshing sound in ear.
Experiencing a whooshing sound in your ear can be a distressing and uncomfortable experience. The sound may range from a mild humming to a loud and constant noise that disrupts your daily activities. While there can be various reasons behind this, it is often a symptom of tinnitus.
Understanding the Causes of Whooshing Sound in Ear
Before we dive into the solutions, it is essential to understand the possible causes of the whooshing sound in your ear. Here are some common reasons:
Inner Ear Issues
The inner ear plays a crucial role in transmitting sound signals to the brain. Any damage or issues with the inner ear can cause hearing problems, including tinnitus.
Ear Wax Buildup
Ear wax is a natural substance that helps protect the ear canal from infections. However, excessive ear wax buildup can cause hearing problems and even tinnitus.
High Blood Pressure
High blood pressure can cause a whooshing sound in the ear, along with other symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, and blurred vision.
Stress and Anxiety
Stress and anxiety can trigger tinnitus and cause a whooshing sound in the ear.
Ways to Stop Whooshing Sound in Ear
1. Consult an Audiologist
If you experience a whooshing sound in your ear, it is essential to seek medical attention. An audiologist can diagnose the cause of your tinnitus and recommend appropriate treatment.
2. Reduce Your Stress Levels
As stress and anxiety can trigger tinnitus, it is essential to find ways to reduce stress levels. Practicing meditation, deep breathing exercises, and engaging in physical activity can help alleviate stress.
3. Avoid Loud Noises
Exposure to loud noises can worsen tinnitus and cause a whooshing sound in the ear. Avoid or limit exposure to loud music, power tools, and other sources of loud noise.
4. Manage Blood Pressure
If high blood pressure is causing the whooshing sound in your ear, it is essential to manage your blood pressure levels. This can be done through medication, a healthy diet, regular exercise, and stress management techniques.
5. Use White Noise
White noise can help mask the sound of tinnitus and reduce its impact on your daily life. You can use a white noise machine or a fan to create a soothing background noise that distracts from the whooshing sound.
6. Get Earwax Removed
If earwax buildup is causing the whooshing sound in your ear, it is essential to get it removed. You can visit an audiologist or use ear drops to soften the wax and remove it at home.
Does meditation increase tinnitus
Omg I'm having this problem. It occurs every few seconds after. Sounds like weird air blowing into the ear. I was sleeping and in the middle of the night I wake up and discover something is going on my ear . I entered my finger into the ear but nothing happens. Then I searched on google how tinnitus sounds like . But those are all beep sound . But my sound completely different .
i've been having this since the second lockdown in england, I have low heart blood pressure and am on propronolol for my anxiety. I only hear it when I'm laying down, sometimes I get headaches but I don't know if that's a result of me stressing over it I get numb legs and vibrating eyes too…?
I've had this in my ear since yesterday it's driving me mad I just want it to stop. I have been getting really bad head aches too
I can hear pulsatile wind in my ear it gets lower sometimes like yesterday at night it was gone but today it occured again
it sounds like a flute in my ear and hearing this triggers it more
Thanks. I thought I was going mad. Now I can name my concerns for my Dr.
Many thanks, I been tryin to find out about "how do i stop the ringing in my ears due to sinus?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of – Meniley Deyilliam Method – (do a google search )? It is a good one of a kind product for discovering the real root cause of Tinnitus without the headache. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my best friend Jordan after a lifetime of fighting got astronomical success with it.
Thank u dude I don't Kno what to do with my ears they clean my ears but I still can't hear I have sticky ear wax I can't even hear my movie
Do I have that it doesn’t sound like swooshing it sound like air is escaping my ear

Thank you man. I've had it for a couple months now it's so fucking annoying. Thanks Doc.
OMG, thank God this is a thing…I thought I was going crazy. No ear wax according to Dr. treating right now for ear infection, hopefully it goes away.
Yes, I've recently got this. I've been to the local pool a bit, I may want to check this out. Thank you for your explanation!
I’ve had this whooshing sound since I was little but never really thought much about it but it’s so annoying, I’ve always had congestion and nose proplems, I wonder if it’s caused by that
I developed this after grommet 5 days ago. Worried it won’t go away. I can’t sleep
Relaxing and doing breathing exercise help me big time. And stop ✋ messing with my ears. But i do believe if things get worse you should see a dr❤
Thanks jimmy
Low bp, low heart rate, but I do have hole in ear drum. Wonder what's cause of recent problem 🙁
Careful! Mine was caused by a tumor. I only discovered the cause via MRA.
When I close my nose and mouth and blow (augmenting the pression in my internal ear, a diver thing), the pulsation stops, and it comes again when I yawn to reduce said pression.
I have no clue what it does mean, but I really hope I'll be able to solve it by myself because it's very annoying and I can't afford a doctor nowadays.
Can't find anything about a deflating/pumping sound in one ear ONLY when i chew..i got my ear wax cleaned at the doctors less than 2 months ago (after never having it done before)..no i didnt go swimming, or suffer trauma to ear, or overwhelming stress..what could the suspects be ? Cheers
Hi im having impacted wisdom teeth right lower jaw….im hearing only one side that right side ear whooshing sound exactly to my hear beat…..may be this impacted tooth is the reason for the tinnitus or not …pls reply me
Thank you, very well explained.
Can a loose tooth cause it
How long can you have it?
Can sinuses cause this, or anxiety, or abssessed tooth, I only get it in my right ear, that's a side I need to get my tooth pulled
I have been on oxycotin..flexeril..cymbalta for many years. Last 5 months or so I've woke up with whooshing sound in my ears. Only in the morning ..and if I've not taken my medication. When I take the oxycotin it goes away. But I take oxycotin every 12 hours so it should be in my body 24 7…why whooshing only when I wake up.?..IF I happen to miss the timing of dose it whooshes. And if I lay down…could any of this meds be doing this? Lots of constant ring and buzzing too
I spent a few days swimming in the sea .. I'm also busy with Champix to stop smoking 2nd month and I'm not sure if it's the Champix!
