  1. Dr. Cliff, In support of your review of the Signia AX HA's on your Youtube channel, I thought I'd comment on my experience with these as of late. I am currently demoing a set of Signia Pure C&G 7AX Bi-CROS HA's and my current HA's are Oticon OPN S 1 MINIRITE T and are set up for Bi-CROS as well and I'm quickly finding out how lacking the Oticon is in contrast to the Signia AX's, at least in my case. The phone app of my Oticon's (my setup) has no volume control for my transmitter whereas Signia has both volume control for the HA and Transmitter controlled within the app and it works very well. I find myself adjusting the transmitter numerous times (in noisy areas) to suit my hearing needs on my deaf side. With Oticon, I'm stuck with pushing the rocker switch on the device only to do what small adjustments I have with it. That seems very lacking for a company with the reputation and size in the market of Oticon to only have that capability for its users that need CROS. The Tinnitus program for the Signia suits my condition well with a variety of sound choices that assist with a condition as such. My Hearing Aid Professional that sold me the Oticon's to the tune of $6,500.00 mentioned to me recently that the Tinnitus program for them wasn't really a very good program. He really didn't offer a good alternative and based on that poor advice, I found Resound's version in the Apple app store (downloaded it) and it seems to work pretty well (so far) with airplay on my iPhone when I use my OPN S HA's. I once thought that Oticon was one of the absolute top companies in the Hearing Aid market and champions at solving many HA issues for folks like me. This was an expensive lesson for me at this point, but the Signia's (so far) seem to offer much better alternatives for my needs, no matter how fundamental they may seem.

  2. Thanks DR C. Demoing a pair of these right now. Think you may have sold me. Much better than the Starkeys I tried. App us better 2. And I think the dual processor is the clincher!

  3. I saw an audiologist today who recommended the Signia 5AX. I asked about Real Ear Measurement and they said they don't use that technique to program/fit the hearing aids. Should I be concerned? Is it okay to not use Real Ear Measurement? thank you

  4. Hello, I always go to your reviews before hearing related purchases. I currently use the Starkey Livio AI Edge 2400. Im interested in the Signia Styletto AX because the portability of the case. Which of the two has better, natural sound quality? I use RIC due to occlusion effect on other styles of devices.

  5. Once again an awesome video. I just purchased the Signia Silk Nx's for bicros and overall I like them however my own voice is very amplified and annoying. Also when I'm eating the noise of my own chewing is very loud. Would I be better off with a receiver in canal design to avoid these issues?

  6. I have the Rexton BiCores which appear to use an identical app and line for line matches the Signia AX7 spec. As a new user I'm still trying to get my brain to re-wire so won't complain about that for now. But all day long I hear snaps, pops and crackles with movement and wonder if it might be related to the way the wire exits the Signia and Rexton HA. It seems that is where the artifacts are coming from. A yawn, eye squint, head scratch or sometimes nothing will cause this and other times quiet. But it is movement related. I am going to once again tell my tech about it (CostCo) and will also try another CostCo close by to ask about how they fit my ear and if they can see any issues with the wire length, etc. I have 7mm open domes and also tried tulips. They accidentally gave me 5mm open domes yesterday and the artifacts were much worse.

  7. I am wearing a trial pair of Pure Charge and Go 5AX. So far, I'm very pleased. From what I can tell they can have up to 6 programs. I'm using "universal" and "TV" Can you please tell me what the other 4 options are?

  8. Given what you said about moisture damage to hearing aids, the initial cost, and the manufacturer’s repair costs, why don’t they ship the aids with the dry and clean chargers? They should save enough on repairs to cover the cost of the (overpriced) charger upgrade.

  9. Hello Doc. Cliff, I just discovered your channel yesterday as I was doing researches to get a new pair of hearing aids. I watched some of your videos and went to the Signia site and found they have a Pure 312 AX with battery now? I'm considering these.

  10. June 2022 just switched to the AX after 3+ years with Phonak M9's.First impressions they are much better than the prior Signia units I trialed prior to the Phonaks. Prior to the Phonaks I had Oticon Alta Pros for several years. Compared to the Marvels the new Signia receiver wires are much stiffer and the wire enters the reciver at an odd angle in the ear. I am using my small open dome Phonak tips as they are just a bit larger than the small Signia / Widex ones and I am comfotable with them. The NEW handsfree phone option works better than Phonaks as there hve been no complaints from callers when using the Mics in the aids for speaking.
I miss the LEDS on the Aids that the Phonaks had but as for size the Signia are a bit slimmer. Battery life seenms to be much beteer on the Signia AX 7. Made for iPhone is a much better setup than the 3 Bluetooth connections the Phonak used. Only difference now is I lost my ability to connect to my MacBook without a intermediate device. I will go back to my apple ear buds because with the Phonaks everyone around you could hear what was being playrd or said too. Also the Signia MIFI connection allows you to turn off phone system sounds, something rhe Phonaks annoyingly would not let you do. The Phonak app seems more finished and complete than Signia . Signia has two pages in their user manaual explaing a standby feature that does not exist in the app. Signia says use the app to turn the volume down to zero as a solution. Using the buttons on the aids only allows it to go to 1. Other app oddities include having a Batt icon and BT icon buttons that both bring you to the same app screen. Sonehow the app seems incomplete. There is no annoying tone from the aids when they go back to automatic mode as with Phonak. I do have a Tinnitus program set as my only atenate program I decided to see how the Signiias do on their own automatically like Phonak. The Aud inadvertantly also left masker on in the universal program but I turn it off in the app but will need to get it corrected, Through my exereince it seems AUDS have too many brands availble to them and not enough in depth programming experience with each brand. I know that from doing my homework before deciding then asking questions or in this Signia case reminding about own voice processing being set up.

  11. Thanks for your videos.
I used my airPod pro as hearing aids after seeing your video about it.
Then I recently upgraded to 7 ax. The sound quality is great! I’m having issues with the bluetooth which is intermittent, currently returned to signia for repair/replacement, I hope they solve the issue!

  13. I don't agree that repairs on rechargeables is HIGHER than battery operated. I'm an Audiologist in GA, so maybe it's just more humid here and we definitely have less moisture-related issues with the rechargeables.

  14. I was fitted with the Pure C&G T AX last week. These are my first HA’s so I don’t have anything to compare them to. I have moderate to profound hearing loss and tinnitus.
These are life changing for me. The background and speech is no longer a wall of sound. I really like the the focus feature and the programs for different listening situations. The battery life is excellent, I had them in for 18 hours with a few hours of streaming and still had 40% of battery left. My tinnitus is reduced to almost unnoticeable.

  15. My wife had the Signia Insio AX (ITC) fitted recently, and the audiologist did something which I thought was the REM. But it looked different to the traditional REM tubes. Just thin fibre with a tiny bead at the end inserted into each ear. Then the HA was inserted on top of it.
So it was some sort of in ear measurement, but it did not involve a speaker, and not much adjusting if any.
Any idea what it could have been?
Is there a provision in the Connexx fitting software for the classic REM? Should my wife ask for it?

  16. Hello! Dr Cliff! I’m getting these Signia hearing aids Friday, I AM NEW TO HEARING AIDS, I’m nervous about the “professional audiologist” for various reasons. Should I ASK him if he does real ear measures And Should I expect to Feel them in my ears at all if they’re properly fitted? Thank you so much for your very informative videos! I wish I lived in Arizona!!

  17. I really like the AX, we’ve prescribed quite a few but I disagree with the click dome comments, I think most of our patients appreciate the stability the click function gives them and don’t mind that it’s a slightly more fiddly to replace/ remove as it reassures them the dome is very unlikely to come off in their ears. The new spurs though are blooming ridiculous!!

  18. I have a problem with their help . They don't ask you what the problem is, but give you a list of problems. I got my hearing aids and the first week and to this day the left ear shuts down. I took them back and supposedly they sent them back for a new pair. I fight with them in the morning to bluetooth to my Note 20 ultra plus. Two hours later the left one shuts off. I have the rechargeable ones. I have to put them back in the case two to five times to get them to work. It's a crying shame when you get a phone call and only one ear peice works. I had better experience with ear buds with bluetooth. When they do work they are great. My suggestion is to try other companies products. All I get is the covid bullshit excuse. Don't buy this product.

  19. I have Signia hearing aids that are almost 5 years old. I am frustrated when out to dinner with friends or in a crowd. My doctor recommends the new Signia hearing aids. I'm willing to wait a year or so if they will come out with even more improvements What is in the near future for Signia? Clarity and extraneous noise reduction are my major issues.

  20. Thanks for the review on these hearing aids. I have never had hearing aids and I know I have to get a pair after seeing an audiologist, hearing aside I have mild to medium tinnitus and significant has notch therapy. Is this therapy better than other manufacturers that have a type of tinnitus therapy? Thanks for your help

  21. I am an audio technician. I am pretty devastated by my hearing loss. But I’m a fighter too. I really need to know the fine details of the hearing aide and I can’t find it anywhere! I want to know about the compression, the latency, the noise reduction, the limiting, and what the overall processing limitations are so I can compensate using my desk processing. Any direction you can point me in please?

  22. Signia claim that the Insio C&G AX come in two forms – ITE and ITC. The audiologist I have spoken to claims the form (i.e. the visible faceplate size and shape) depends on the size/shape of ear. For some persons it will turn out to be ITE, for others it will be ITC.
Is this correct? With other brands, they have pictures of distinctly different forms – ITE, ITC, CIC, etc.
    Could somebody please enlighten me?

  23. I just ordered these HA, however I wonder what kind of AX I can expect because I do not want to activate Bluetooth (in order to reduce RA exposure). In that case, which of the features will not be accessible to me, besides adjusting my HA manually, rather than through a smartphone?

  25. Just want to thank you, in general, for your video information on hearing aids.
I have a dilemma about selecting a hearing aid.
Am I in a dilemma between Phonak Audeo P90 or Signia Pure & Charge Go 7AX? Who is better at understanding in speech and noisy environments? Does anyone recommend me?
    Thank you very much.

  28. Thanks for the great and thorough video, Doc. Quick question… Do we know if the Insio Charge & Go AX model will have the dual processing function as well? I'm a diehard ITE wearer but know that sometimes the smaller ITE models don't include all the features of the BTEs. Hoping to I.D. the best option for a full-featured ITE 'wearable' style hearing aid, so curious how this new one will compare. Thanks!
