  1. Please pardon my newby question. I bought Phonak Hearing Aids hoping they could be adjusted to amplify a certain frequency range – the human voice. I returned to my Audiologist and he told me these amplify all sounds regardless of frequency. Is that true? Or did I get swindled out of a lot of money?

  2. Please someone let Phonak know that fourteen hours of battery life sucks. I take a nap and religiously plug my HA into the charger otherwise I would not be able to listen to your video at 9:30 pm. Less water resistance and more battery life would make me happy.

  3. Thanks for this great review! With the addition of the Gortex membrane and the use of 4 speakers instead of 3, is there any reason to think that the hearing performance would be any less than R and RT? That would be my only hesitation.

  5. Having experienced the after sale service of GN Resound in India during last 2 years ( within warranty period ) , I strongly recommend that in India atleast , users should prefer other brands like Phonak and never go for GN Resound.

This regarding usage of Resound – Quattro 7 RIC which had been sent for repairs to their Mumbai office 5 times in last 6 months but issues falling on deaf ears.

  6. My third pair of Phonaks are 3 years old and by far the worst, even the on-off switch doesn’t work properly. My supplier said tell them yourself, they might take more notice. But phonak doesn’t communicate with users.
This video Presenter is sure convincing, he could talk under water.

  7. Thanks for a very thorough review. I'm a subscriber because your videos are terrific – very informative and well done!

I have moderate to severe hearing loss and feel I need the most technologically-advanced aids that are currently available. I'm presently trying a pair of Paradise Audéo P90 aids along with the Roger ON (I've also tried Oticon More and Signia Pure aids – my audiologist is very patient!). On your recommendation I also asked her to do a real ear measurement with the Audéo aids.

Overall, my speech discrimination is slightly better than with my Oticon One aids. Not significantly better, but my hearing is at that stage where I'm probably not going to be able to easily understand speech in certain situations when I'm out and about (but Roger ON is certainly helping!). The price of the aids and Roger ON is steep, but I'll bite the bullet if it helps me.

So after watching this video I asked my audiologist to order the Life aids for a trial. One small concern is that you mentioned that the Life batteries are good for about 16 hrs, which is less than what I'm experiencing with the Audéo aids. The fact that the Life charging case holds additional charges is certainly a plus. Do they use the same battery? Another possible drawback is that if the right aid needs charging I won't be able to stream phone calls etc. while it's on charge. Is that still the case?

One last thing… I think it would be awesome if the MyPhonak app would have a companion app for the Apple Watch. That would provide a bit more convenience and practicality, and maybe allow users to be a bit more discreet. Thoughts?

Again, MANY thanks for all of your videos… keep up the great work!

I have the Phonak Marvel M-90 today for whatever reason myPhonak changed the software and I figured out some of it, but because of my age I'm little slow in figuring the rest of it can you help out so I don't have to keep running to the VA hospital to bother them with the small stuff like this a video on any changes made and how they work any different from before. and thank you in advanced

  9. I get the phonak audeo life HA's next week. I picked these because I like to stay active and determined these would suit my style. I did some research and found that my Au.D offers a good price and a complete testing when programming them and, the after care is like you suggested.

  11. Can you tell me if these hearing aids have problem with dropp[ng out when streaming from the computer on YouTube? The paradise ones I tried kept dropping the sound in the middle of the stream for 10-15 seconds.

  12. I can't wait for the Phonak Life to be released here in Canada and keep checking availability with them. I have had nothing but moisture problems since day one with another top of the line brand and swore I would never buy another pair of hearing aids until someone came up with a waterproof design. You are very diplomatic but let's face it Dr Cliff these products are technological marvels but engineered to fail. With not even a piece of Gortex over the microphones they might as well put a funnel there. Their constant moisture failures create a never ending revenue stream over something as common as sweating in July or being caught in the rain. The after warranty repair charges are astronomical and absolutely ridiculous when most customers are fixed income seniors. As you can tell I'm very disillusioned with the industry after my experiences with my first pair of hearing aids. Phonak has to be congratulated for bringing the Life product to the marketplace, its long overdue and will hopefully force other manufactures to step up. Thank you Dr Cliff for keeping the public so well informed without you I would have not known Phonak Life were coming soon!

  13. I simply love your Videos! I enjoy the energy you show and the information you present is great. Here is a question… on the Phonak Audeo P90R and P90RL have you heard of any issues with the sound shifting off to one side while streaming? This is very apparent while listening to a book being read. I have been trying out a few sets of them and found the balance shifts after a while and if I pause the source and then continue the sound re-centers and is fine for a while and then slowly shifts again. I would like to purchase the Life versions, but this balance shift is a deal breaker for me. My audiologist has given up trying to find a solution. Thank you.

  14. Great Video. I have hearing aid insurance for the first time ever and being that my current Costco HA's are 8 years old I'm now looking at a nice upgrade. Advice welcome. I'm starting to lean into the Phonak Life although the hearing guy at one of the shops strongly recommends the Resound One. If you have any advice great. I'm also open to the Kirkland KS10. And if you don't have time – very cool – the videos are very generous of you to post. Joel

  15. I had my hearing aids in 2015, and I broke my pink ones and I have my blue ones for like two years and today I am getting the mature ones, which are the wire ones. The pink and blue ones are the tubes and the color of the wire ones are going to be almost the same color as my hair. Since I sometimes have drainage in my ears (there’s tubes in my eardrums), I have to get the wires or something changed. And also my hearing aids are not the same. If you think I’m a elderly person, no I’m not. I’m a teenager who lost some of her hearing.

  16. Hi down there; love your reviews! Do you have an educated guess as to when they will be available in Canada (they are not, as of Jan 28/22, and Phonak Canada says they-"dunno"-when :-/ ). If I cross-boarder shop, and purchase them at a "Good Practices" aud, say in Buffalo, would they be serviceable / warranty-able here in Canada? Thanks!

  17. Hi Dr. Cliff, I just ordered Phonak Paradise hearing aids. I wanted to get the Life version but apparently I can't because the audiologist said I need a power receiver in one ear. She said the Life model doesn't allow this. This seemed strange to me if everything about was the same as the premium Paradise. Is this your understanding?
