I once tried to compile a list of all problems which may have contributed to my tinnitus. Obviously, I listed the negative experiences of my life over a ten year period.

Some of these things could have been avoided, most of them were linked to each other. There were times of stress, sickness, loss, grief, guilt and deep sorrow. Don’t forget, this is only a list of things that I think should be mentioned.

Most people live under some sort of stress. It is so common to hear your friends that they have been stressed about this and that. Life is not going to be any easier. It is a modern life syndrome where we don’t have any escape from.

It looks terrible I know. The worst thing is that I am one of millions who used to live like this. If you can’t identify with anything written on this list then you shouldn’t have tinnitus. Any one of these elements on their own would be harmful enough for any person.

Stressful situations can start the buzz in the ears

Tinnitus starts slow usually and gets its intensity as the stresses grow. The first few weeks or months are not that significant for most victims. No one gives it a good thought and ask; What is this buzzing in my ears? It only starts to be noticed later.

No surprise that most sufferers hear the tinnitus at night.  as the surrounding gets quieter, the ringing in the ears becomes more significant. I hope you now have probably understood what is tinnitus. It is a symptom of other undergoing problems in your life. Most of all,  it is a reflection of how hard you have been hit by stress.
