  1. Agree with a number of comments. The new app is a big flop. If I want to use the app to help manage the hearing aid, Phonak, to me, gets a D- App is part of the package which Phonak doesn't seem to get. If not properly created and supported, why did Phonak even bother to create an app. Especially one that doesn't work well.

  2. The app has improved a lot since the first version I had in 2019 with my Marvel P90s. I changed to Paradise P90s in December 2021 and reboot was all that was necessary to hook up with the app. The move to the new app design with the inclusion of 'Health' in mid 2022 was a disaster but this has now been resolved. HOWEVER, there is still no way to alter the frequency settings via an equalizer when listening to TV through the TV connector, a computer via Bluetooth, or when using the Roger ON microphone. Such a feature would be SO useful, Phonak!

  3. Hi Dr. Cliff. This was great and I 100% agree with your likes and dislikes. Not long ago on another video you asked everyone what topics they would like to see in future videos. I would love for you to go through the various settings and customizations found in the My Phonak app and not only explain what they do, but also give some tips on the best way to use them to improve hearing in various situations. I love having access to as much personal customization as possible, but also want to be sure I'm using the features correctly and in the most beneficial way possible. Thanks for all you do!

  4. I like the new Myphonak app I just got the Audeo Marvel, I'm just waiting for the next upgrade on my phonak to try some of the newer features that this app has with the new hearing aid

  5. Apparently you and others were heard. Update to the app brings back the large volume control = not much else on the home screen. The health stuff is now relegated to an icon at the bottom. No adjustable bass / mid / treble though.

  6. I'm about to replace my 8-year-old Phonak aids with new ones. They tout all the new features including bluetooth and the MyPhonak App available for smart phone. Looking at the customer reviews, the app has about the worst reviews I've ever seen. Most complaints deal with pairing issues, one aid not pairing, one or both loosing pairing, the need to constantly reset the app, the aids, the phone, etc. Only a few about the look of the app or it's functionality. Since I don't yet have a smart phone, the need to buy one along with very expensive hearing aids to use an app whose functionality is spotty at best is not encouraging. You seem to gloss over the connectivity issue, and I wonder if the need for an LE enabled smart phone is part of the issue? Nice to know which phones would be best.

  7. Hello, I am just starting to use my P70 Audeo aids, my problem is that when I turn on the right ear aide, it does not give me sound at all.
    These are brand new.
    Not sure what to do.

  8. I am paying this review on behalf of my mother. This upgraded application release is a flat out bust. We lost adjustment features that were needed to help dial in better hearing in places like restaurants. With the loss of these features , these hearing Sid’s are a bust for my mother. We called the companies customer service line and were told we had to adjust to the new app. My mother would have never purchased these hearing aids based on the sound quality via this review app.

  9. They're a great hearing aid but the Bluetooth connectivity and app issues are enough for me to consider returning them. I called Phonek who gave me a supposed solution and it didn't work. When selling a device that it priced and positioned like these are, everything better work flawlessly. Bluetooth never stays connected. The app is horrible. You need to set up your auto on and touch features literally every time you use the app which crashes constantly. Phonek is well aware of the issues. Reviews in the app store are horrible. Nothing but one stars for the passed month. If the issue isn't resolved by next month, they're going back. Shame really.

  10. Have had my Phonak Audeo L70-R for about a week now. The hearing aids connected to the myPhonak app without a problem at first. Now they won't connect to the myPhonak app, but they connect to Bluetooth. I've rebooted my iPhone a couple of times, turned the hearings aid off/on, disconnected then connected them to Bluetooth, still won't connect to the app.

  11. I'm still in my trail period for the new Lumity Product. I'm also a pretty techie type so the App doesn't frighten me. However I find the Bluetooth connectivity an issue. I have a new iPhone 13 and updated MyPhonak app. Connectivity to the iPhone is up and down throughout the day. But the biggest problem (right now, anyway) is when I change the Slider on the Tap Control feature and the slider on the Auto On feature it DOES NOT save that selection. It keeps changing those selections to DISABLE. Those two features are important to me and they do not work! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr 😞

  12. How come I thought with Phonak Paradise 90R that once set on the app. hearing aids would automatically would follow the AutoSenseOS and adjust to my surroundings. I didn't realize that I had to focus on the app constantly.

  13. Thanks for one mor very informative review Dr. Cliff! Let me add a relative user problem here. My new Lumity L90 cannot connect with the app to manage streaming and double tap; I figure it must be a glitch between the new HA and the latest app, to be corrected soon, I hope!

  14. Thanks for the information. Unfortunately no matter what I do,my hearing aids will not connect to the app even if my phone and aids are fully charged. I have see my health care professional recently and they were also unable to connect my aids to the app. Any further help would be appreciated. Just to say the old app worked perfectly for me the trouble started after the update

  15. myPhonak app is the worst app I have used. I try to custom set my hearing aid, it always goes back to the automatic setting every time. When I try to save the custom setting, it crashes and tells me that it have something that interferes and goes right back to automatic. I tried deleteing and redownload. I tried disconnect divice and reconnect.

  16. Wow, I'm waiting for my first ever hearing aids and reading these negative reviews is upsetting. While I haven't started using the app yet, I can say I have no need for the clutter of more Health crap. My Iphone does that. My Iwatch does that and my new scale even does that. I'm hoping just to be able to hear! Lets get with it Phonak!

  17. Thank you for the update on the app.
I hope you don't mind if I comment on the reliability of the new version of the App.
After using the prior version for several years; I started using the new version of the App a few weeks ago. The old version wasn't great, with occasional connectivity problems, but the new version of the App is very unreliable and inconsistent. As an example; Sometimes calls come through my hearing aids, and sometimes calls come through the speaker on my phone. I can complete a call, or several calls through my hearing aids, and suddenly they stop working and the next call will be through the speaker in my phone. Sometimes it will start through the speaker in my phone, and switch to my hearing aids.
I can watch a video on my phone with audio through my hearing aids, then start another video and the audio will be on the phone.
Receiving a call in my car is even more interesting: Approx. 50% of the time, the call comes through the speaker in the car, 25% of the time the call comes through the hearing aids, and 25% of the time the call comes through the speaker on the phone.
Please note that this all started when I started using the new version of the App.
And yes, I've Uninstalled the and re-installed the App several times with no improvement to the connectivity issues.
It's great that Phonak is is always improving the hearing technology, but reliability is a cornerstone of technology; and Phonak is failing miserably in that respect.

  18. The Health tracking should be optional. You should be able to remove it from the first screen. It's taking up half my phone screen and I don't even want to use it.

  19. Absolute catastrophic reviews in Google App Store. Hopefully they will bring an update ASAP, this version is a desaster for Phonak. I wonder why and how such crappy software can get through tests in the first place.

  20. Very frustrating… there are times I might want to just make a temporary change while using a preprogramed app and not create a new app, but after making adjustments when I close my phone the app reverts back to the original settings unless I save them in a new app. Also it drives me nuts that I can't make equalizer changes when streaming an app… again on a temp basis. If I want a permanent change I will have my audiologist make those changes but there are a lot of times and situations when I just want or need a temporary change to fit the particular situation at hand.

  21. I can say the mute button has never worked on the old app and the new app. So when I connect TV to the app volume level super high and I have to go adjust it to lower the volume.

  22. Thank you for reviewing the new app. When I updated my phone to the new app I lost all my custom settings? The home page of the app is too cluttered on the bottom. Also why is the equalizer limited to only 3 settings? Why not 5 or 8.
Note: whenever I visit my audiologist for service, my custom settings drop out. Again very annoying. Finally does there exist a 3rd party app for Phonak that might be better. One Phonak app for all hearing losses seems limited. Why not better upgrades for music lovers, musicians, traveling clients, students, etc. Overall I give Phonak a 5 out of 5 on the Paradise Audeo hearing aids and 2 or 3 out of 5 on the app. Addionally, why did my audiologist limit me to a level 2p microphone on my hearing aid when better ones exist? I can buy a 2p for $20 on ebay. Seriously!

  23. I hate it. Cluttered screen, doesn't notify me when I have texts, disconnects at a whim, one will not connect, oh wait, it's disconnected again, oh wait, my TV doesn't connect, oh wait, the TV sound is cutting in and out. Reading the comments, Phonak has done this several times – ALL I WANT TO DO IS HEAR PROPERLY WITH MY $4000 SET OF HEARING AIDS. DON'T WANT TO COUNT MY STEPS, DON'T WANT THAT CLUTTERING MY SCREEN, THEY HAVE TURNED THEM INTO A PIECE OF CRAP. THE OLD APP WAS SO MUCH BETTER – GO BACK TO THAT ONE. KINDA LIKE WINDOWS 8, EVERYONE WENT BACK TO WINDOWS 7 BECAUSE IT WAS SO BAD!!! Phonak, listen to your customers, we want to HEAR with our hearing aids, not jump thru hoops because your hotshot software engineers are trying to make us into gamers!!!!!!!!!!!1

  24. What I have the most trouble is the app disconnects and you have to wait for it to reconnect to adjust your settings. Its inconvenient during conversations at restaurants and other events where sound level changes. Your companions have to hold there conversations while you adjust. Phonak says that this is a battery saving effort, but phone calls are available instantaneously

  25. I am sure everyone has noted that the battery charge indicators are useless… I charged to 100% put then on.. took minute for APP to connect…. stated io94 % ….. made a sandwich. 5 min duration……. looked at my app … WAS not connected so I hit home screen and waited… app up charging rate was 73% and 75%…. useless info.. so I wait till I hear the 2 tones to know that it is time to charge.. A Pain if your in the car or do not have your charger with you… I like disposable battery or rechargeable ones that you can swap out??? PHONAK are you listening? BUT again I am 81 and complain about a lot about user frustration with electronic devices. WE old farts are your biggest market guys!!
